Ixtapaluca

Ixtapaluca is a local municipality in zone III of the state of México in Mexico. The area of the municipality is 315.10 km². The name Ixtapaluca means "Where the salt gets soaked". It is an important suburb due to the fact that many people that work in Mexico City live in Ixtapaluca, and it has developed recent commercial interest due to this. The current Municipal President is Mario Moreno Conrado, from the Party of the Democratic Revolution. The municipalties of Chalco, Valle de Chalco-Solidaridad, Chicoloapan and La Paz, all located on Mexico State, surround Ixtapaluca. It is also next to the state of Puebla.
